The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours, depending on the location of the chimps.

Return to the lodge for lunch, and in the afternoon, embark on the famous canopy walk. Here, you’ll be welcomed by park officials for a detailed briefing on gorilla trekking etiquette, the gorilla families you may encounter, and safety protocols. You’ll be assigned a specific gorilla family based on your fitness level and preferences.

The trek start times vary based on the location of the gorillas, but expect to begin your hike by around 8:00 AM. Trekking can take anywhere between 2 to 6 hours depending on where the gorilla family is located.
